My speaking plans for 2010

Last year I tried to limit my travel but still ended up making about ten (!) trips in 2009. This year I’ve resolved to travel less for work. Right now, here’s my current speaking/travel plans for 2010:

March 2-4, 2010: SMX West, Santa Clara, CA. I’m doing a “Ask the Search Engines” panel.

May 19-20, 2010: Google I/O conference in San Francisco. I’m doing a site review session.

May 21-30, 2010: I’ll be doing a trip to Europe. Right now I don’t have any SEO-related events planned though.

June 8-9, 2010: SMX Advanced in Seattle

June 25-27, 2010: I’ll be at Foo Camp.

August, 2010: Sometime in August I’m going to try to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

November 8-11, 2010: PubCon in Vegas

I was gone last week (February 9-13) for the TED conference, but that was attending, not speaking.

  1. By the way, I’m skipping SXSW this year — there’s just too much on my plate right now. That also means that I won’t be able to make it to PubCon in Dallas, either. πŸ™

  2. Still no Sweden …

  3. Matt, you’re making me sad man. πŸ˜‰

  4. Dear Matt,
I am attending SES London, and they mentioned your name here few times today. I believe you should consider visiting Europe every now and then. We would be interested listening to you.
    Cheers

    David

  5. I’m v. envious (in a good way!) of you going to TED… how was it?

  6. Matt,

You just couldn’t have passed up SMX Advanced so we can have our pool rematch at the Garage in Seattle πŸ˜‰

Be great to see you again in Santa Clara.

  7. was *really* hoping to see you at wordcamp again.

  8. How was the Ted Conference? I imagine it was quite a bit different in person compared to how I watch on my IPod Touch as I’m falling asleep in bed.

  9. Perhaps a chance for another “non-SEO” lunch @ SMX Advanced this year?

  10. When are you coming to Israel?

  11. Well Matt, looks as you are not going to be traveling to far away from home. Be nice if a show was somewhere closer to Denver. In the middle of the States, so us laymen could afford to go.
Never have gone, and would love to hear and see what its like.

  12. Do you ever come to UK or are we being treated as 2nd class citizens of this world by Google πŸ™

  13. I can’t stand to travel for business but to see you I will be going to Pubcon

  14. Caught you at SIGIR last summer. Highlight! I’d love to see something on page speed as a ranking factor.

  15. Matt, you made it to TED but didn’t stop by BIL ( http://bilconference.com )? I thought we talked about this at WordCamp… πŸ™‚

Hope you had a great time in Long Beach, and maybe I’ll see you at BIL 2011 (or at least some TED parties).

  16. Hi Matt

congrats and Good luck for ur travel.

  17. Hi Matt

    Happy journey and good luck

  18. Wow! Ted one of my favourites, great people sharing their thoughts and history with us. Between, Have you got any plans for India?

  19. How about Minneapolis? I’ll buy lunch.

  20. well best wishes for your travel. But if you can find some plans for india, then do have a look over kolkata.

  21. Congratulations Matt. Sounds like you are planning to have balance between your work and home life. Good idea!

  22. Well, if the travelling keeps you close to home and yet ensures so much knowledge to flow, its bound to be beneficial. Envy you, mate.

  23. Hmm, As Evans said, why not UK?
Disappointed, as would love to see you in UK.
Well will keep an eye for next year πŸ™‚

  24. Not much this year you have planned to travel. But for sure you will have more time to spend with the family)

  25. Well Matt why dont u come to Hyderabad, India once.

  26. Any plans to come to conferences in Toronto, Canada?
    maybe next year?

  27. Hi Matt, Do you never come to Charlotte, NC?

Charlotte has become such a big metropolis, yet no google or search conferences hold there. Any plans on the East Coast?

  28. Looking forward you coming to Sweden in 2011 then, since it’s missing in the list above! πŸ™‚

    Best,
    Magnus Lundin

  29. Such a shame you cant make it to SMX Sydney, in Australia. The Aussie’s love you πŸ™‚ and we look forward to when you and your family can come down to OZ, and visit our gorgeous country and maybe pop by Asia on your way home. There is a big community of SEO/SEM’s down under.

Hope to see you at SMX Sydney in 2011.

  30. Will absolutely be there again at pubcon, that was the best conference I have ever been to

I especially enjoyed the site critiques, where you were looking at the site layout, the coding structure, the back-links etc.

  31. That’s too bad about PubCon in Dallas. But traveling less for work means more travel for pleasure right?

  32. I hope you enjoy your journey to all those cities.

  33. Matt, you’d make a fine Politician if you ever decide to go that way πŸ™‚

  34. Wow Matt, Hope you enjoy travel and work.

  35. It’s a shame you are not coming over to the UK. We are not sure if you are real or artificially created in a lab by Google (teehee!). Would you like me to take on your speaking engagements in Europe for you πŸ™‚ I don’t fancy shaving my hair off though.

Seriously, its a big shame. I was at SES London this week and Google were talked about A LOT but not really represented.

    Julie

  36. Any idea when the whole Google Apps/Accounts/Gmail failure is going to get sorted out?

  37. mAmun_bangladeshi

  42. Yeah Matt, you should come to Germany too, we are important as well, you know πŸ˜‰

  43. Still no Sweden

  44. Hi Matt,

Would be fantastic to see you at Sydney’s SMX & emetrics conference in April 2010. Disappointed many star profiles of search and analytics are not attending, is there no support for the Australian industry?, which is rapidly growing each year. All the best!

  45. I’m looking forward to attending the PubCon as well. So when u are talking and when there is pin-point silence & u hear someone shouting ur nam. Well u know who it is then.

  46. Any plans to visit the Holy Land anytime?

  47. Yankee Stadium? Fenway Park? Wrigley Field? Which holy land are we talking about?

  48. Graceland of course.

  49. Hei Matt…

  50. It is good chance to see you at wordcamp.

  54. Matts, i believe you would be ending up somewhere at least with 8 to 10 speaking globally this year again…cheers SEO Jain

  55. Need to get you to Florida…

  56. Hey Matt,

I know it is probably not the right place to ask this question but I’m still going to try:

    * Why Is My Blog Penalized By Google?

My “visible PR” was dropped from 5 to current 3 and remains there for over a year. I don’t do anything illegal, create only unique content, don’t sell links, always engage only in proper link building and yet – all my attempts to restore the PR I had about a year ago are unsuccessful. I can only think of some form of manual penalty and any attempts to find help so far didn’t succeed.

Please help if possible, disregard if inappropriate.

  57. Hello Mr. Cutts, i was trying to find an email of yours, but i couldnt. I would like to know about your availability to make an speech in Orlando. Please send me a contact so i can give you further informations about that.
    Thank you.

    Ana Paula

  58. hi Matt,
will you be coming to spain soon?
big companies are paying loads of money to buy backlinks … so a backlink count is becoming a bit “un fair” or irelavnt, does google consider this in its alagorithim?

    best regards,

    nadav

  59. Matt, do you ever travel internationally? When will we in the UK be able to hear from you live?

  60. Going to try make Vegas – please include a South Africa trip onto your 2011 or 2012 schedule if possible. Thanks for the great blog.

  61. HI Matt,
A colleague and I are giving a talk at DrupalCon about SEO, and we would really like to chat with you to get your views on how we are suggesting that people use the Drupal CMS to get results with best practice SEO principles.
Let me know if you’re interested?
    Jen Lampton

  62. Yup.. your Reports are always gr8.. Hope u come to India one day πŸ˜›

  63. It would be great if you got out of the US – come and see us in the UK – I’m sure there’s an awful lot of SEO guys over here who’d be very happy to see you.

  64. Perhaps there will be another added in the Fall/Winter. Hopefully in the southeast.
