You know, for the longest time, the internet was almost exclusively the province of programmers, who were always a wild and wooly lot, and I would venture to say that more than half the sites and programs out there in the world had to do with a joke in one form or another. Obviously the web has changed in dramatic ways over the last ten years, mostly in the direction of commercialism, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. One way or another it was bound to happen, and certainly the web is a stronger structure as a result. But every now and then I miss those early days of hijinks and pranks. Thanks for bringing them back, if only for one day this year. Awesome.
