I am thankful to whole search quality team and people who has developed the “disavow links tool”. One my website was affected by Google panda update because of links from low quality directory sites. I have contacted the webmaster of sites for link removal but everyone is asking for money for removing link. I have file spam report against some of the site. In one case Google de-indexed the whole site. Thanks Google for that. Few days back, I have put all links are unnatural in disavow links tool. Hoping for the best. Lets see what happens.

Matt I really wanted to let you know about a spam email I got “100 links with PR to your website” from a Romanian domain – just as an FYI of the stuff people who run sites like me get. Is there a place I can post it or another way to send/forward it to you?

Not to bring up things said in the past but I have quite a few .co domains that fail to rank outside of the Google Columbia results. You mentioned <a href="http://news.softpedia.com/news/Google-s-Matt-Cutts-Explains-Whether-co-Domains-Will-be-Treated-as-International-or-Local-Domains-226089.shtml" that Google would be treating them as international domains.
I am an SEO so I’ve done a bit of tinkering and have tested at least 6 or 7 different tactics to see which provides results but I am getting nothing.
I have not changed geo-targeting because if they were being treated as TLD, as mentioned, there would not be a need. One thing I have not tested is if this would make a difference.
Could you please clarify?

many people i know who used ‘disavow links tool’ say it took over month and a half to process their orders

According to WMT, there’s a page on the DAILEYINT.COM website with 191,004 incoming links, (I swear it was 202,000 last time I looked) but only 6 referring domains, one obviously some SEO spammer, with 955 links and the others with only one. The page hasn’t even existed in a couple years.
If you have any interest in the phenomena, I’d be happy to 301 that page to the location of your choice. Lord knows I’ve already 301′d all my remaining heavily plagiarized computer resources off the site in a last ditch effort to help my 92 year old ex-business partner’s history pages recover from the 90% beating Panda gave them.

I have to say that since Google started sending Unnatural Link Penalty emails we have received a TON of emails about removing links from directories we don’t control. People make the assumption that somehow we can control people’s use of our software. I actually am glad google did this because we don’t like people using our software for the wrong reason either, but we had plenty of work replying to people. I’m hoping this disavow tool will mean the emails will stop.

So basically it’s very easily to have your online reputation destroyed by a bad SEO guy, and very easy to do the same to a competitor? This new tool is welcome but why doesn’t Google simply remove the links deemed as spammy automatically, Google knows which links need to be removed and could very easily just discount them.
For one of my clients, I found and analysed around 40000+ backlinks which are spammy and irrelevant. I tried removing it using dvow links providing the list of links, however, thought it removed, it did not remove it completely, still I find around 1400 links, now trying to contact the webmasters of those sites, requesting to remove my link from their website, with no reponse
. So is there a way, I can block these?
