My name is Inigo

It’s Halloween, which means a chance to dress as something else. After my Earl experience went pretty well, I decided to have fun for Halloween. This time, my name is Inigo. Hallo! My name is Inigo Montoya. You spam my index. Prepare to die!

Ingo #1

And of course some Inigo grooming of the moustache was in order. A perfectly good mullet wig had to die for this outfit:

Will any spammers feel the blade of Inigo today?

Spammers, feel my blade!

Anybody care to post their Halloween pictures? πŸ™‚

  1. A classic movie!

  2. >Will any spammers feel the blade of Inigo today

Based on what I’m seeing on 66.102.11.99, looks like many have already felt the cold steel of Inigo’s blade.

Me thinks your choice is Fruedian.
A few quotes from Inigo as they apply to jagger3 (I assume that is what Im seeing on 66.102.11.xx:

“But, I promise I will not kill you until you reach the top.”
“prepare to die. Now, offer me money.”

  3. Showed this to my Mum, and she thought it was Antonio Banderas πŸ˜‰

  4. Hey Mr. Montoya,

I like the pics you should be in a Geico commercial πŸ™‚

But seriously, I definitely agree with “What a Maroon” 66.102.11.99 is very scary.
I understand that it is way to early to comment but the results are horrible. I am so amazed by the companies you have listed for the top 10 of my keyword. It reminds me of the “Spam” pic that Barry Schwartz posted, I see many unethical companies on the first page.

Any idea on when Jagger 3 should be completed?

    Happy Halloween Mr. Montoya

  5. These days, Inigo would get more fighting done with a laptop than a blade. πŸ™‚

  6. There’s something I forgot to tell you Matt…

    I am not left-handed!

    Great costume.

Inigo Mattoya: Hello, my name is Inigo Mattoya. You spammed my index prepare to die. Now, offer me money.
    [slices Count Spammer’s cheek]
    Count Spammer: Yes.
Inigo Mattoya: Power too. Promise me that.
    [slices Count Spammer’s other cheek]
Count Spammer: All that I have and more. Please…
Inigo Mattoya: Offer me everything I ask for.
Count Spammer: Any thing you want.
Inigo Mattoya: I want the invisible non-commercial web back, you son of bitch.

  7. Inigo (Matt),

Can you add to your list of executions good ol SBC/Ed Whitacre?

I guess he thinks you guys oughta cough up some dough for Google packets crossing his “pipes”.

  8. Like the mullet Mr C. Grow that one full time.

Matt, I know this is not the proper area to post this, but I am at a lost for clues. Our site, http://www.mohotta.com, has been either lost or blacklisted from google and we are not sure why or what we can do to fix it….I will admit that I am not the web guru but any help would be greatly appreciated! Once again, sorry for disturning you….love the mullet!

  10. HA!!!! πŸ˜‰

“You spam my index”. (that will be a great signature for the forums…)

    Cold

    Hard

    Steel

  11. Me gets the feeling Google doesn’t know the difference anymore between normal serious sites and spammers. Maybe Google can take of the mask so Google can see clearly again.

    πŸ˜‰

  12. Dear Meester Montoya illustriousness,

I implore you to agree to serve as celebrity sponsor for my new Online Pharmaceutical site “IocainePowder.com”. You are very scary man.

  13. Haha, nice. I’m too lazy to dress as a Blue Man this year, and my black mock turtleneck is at home, so no Steve Jobs either. I guess I’ll just be boring today.

  14. I’d kill to see you wear that at an SES conference. In fact, it would be kinda funny to see all the search engine representatives donning superhero-like garb! It is a battle of superhero proportions, is it not?

  15. Something tells me that Miracle Max would run a sleezy blackhat SEO operation. “Go through his clothes and look for loose change.”

  16. What a great costume idea! Now you just need a large tall friend to dress up as Fezzik, someone who looks good in black (and is blonde) to dress up as Westley, and attractive blonde princess for Buttercup and a skilled tracker to be Prince Humperdinck.

Miracle Max: Have fun stormin’ da castle.
    Valerie: Think it’ll work?
Miracle Max: It would take a miracle.

  17. stuntdubl, you just went up a couple notches in my book.

Also, LarryP didn’t recognize me until I took the mullet wig off. πŸ™‚

  18. Hi Matt!

Is it possible for me to write you a letter?
If so, where would I send it?

    Thanks!
    Marvin

  19. UAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUu i’m in love……..

    So pretty….so strong….. so…………. (can’t write this i don’t kill my husband yet).

  20. Whoa if I was spam I would be afraid thats a big sword and a killer mullet. LOL, now I just need to figure out why 5 of my unrelated sites got banned. Matt can you help me out? I can send you show you my Halloween pictures, I dressed up with my girlfriend. We were those cheerleaders from saturday night live. I swear I dont do anything shady on my sites, thats what bothers me. Only thing they have in common is the same whois info and the same host. Im pretty ruined and I cannot figure out what I did at all. I build links by hand (takes forever) and write my own content 100%.

  21. That mullet is seriously scary.

  22. Nice Loafers under those spats!

The scary part is that that mustache is real!

    GaryTheScubaDiver

I went as the lead singer for Korn…We have the same stache groomer…lol of course mine was fake!

  23. Matt,

Did it really take 2 belts to hold that in?

  24. Nice outfit, but I like your “Senior” look better.

  25. Live by the sword, Die by the sword.

  26. Tod & Matt – shouldn’t that finish off: “You son of a beetch”

  27. That costume soooooo rocks πŸ™‚ I also liked the dressing up that some AdSense ad units got as well πŸ˜‰

  28. Wear that to the vegas conference lol. I’ll be on the look out.

  29. Great Boots. My costume was pretty lame this year. A home made Han Solo.

  30. Ahahaha nice costume Matt! Too bad I didn’t dress up for halloween this year… I like the sword =)

  31. Good morning Mr. Inigo πŸ™‚

    Simple question.

Are we still on schedule regarding Jagger3. I.e should we still expect to see the emerge of Jagger3 sometime tomorrow?

Btw, may I suggest revitalizing the good old “scruffy little goatee”. I have one myself, and it has been with me since1991 πŸ™‚

  32. IΓ±igo Montoya.

    ps: note the ‘Γ±’ πŸ™‚

  33. GaryTheScubaGuy, the camera adds 10 pounds. πŸ™‚ Actually, one belt was just for show; the other was to give me something to hang the sword off of. πŸ™‚

Harith, things are still going pretty well on Jagger3. I’m not precisely sure when they’ll start making it visible to the outside world, but I’m still hoping this week.

  34. Thanks for feedback, Matt.

    Have a great sunny day.

  35. Aren’t you missing a finger?

Or was that the other guy?

No it was the other guy.

What a great film. I used to love it as a kid.

  36. Great costume! You should have been out on Franklin St. (Chapel Hill) last night for the Halloween Festival! I’m sure you familiar with it. There were many great costumes. I’ll have to check my digi cam and see if any of the pics came out visible. It was night time. Anyway, one of the greatest costumes I seen was about 8 people who dressed up as a house! Another was George Bush in a prisoner (black/white stripes) suit! Great stuff.

    Thanks for sharing

  37. My picture would probably break the screen of every viewer and cause severe post-traumatic stress. And that’s even before I would put on any costume.

Speaking of stress, I am going bats about something relating to Jagger. Myself, Oz and LB posted comments in the Jagger 2 post and I’d appreciate it if you could give any information:

“This has been mentioned before somewhere, but can you provide any info on why inner pages with hardly any BL’s are the first page from a site that appears in the rankings for a keyword, and the homepage is nowhere to be seen, even though the homepage is targetted for the KW in question, and has far more BL’s?”

I’ve been waiting for Jagger 3 before deciding whether to report, as it’s not a spam report issue. To me, it looks a lot like sites are being ‘re-sandboxed’. Please can you advise.

Sorry for commenting off the original topic, but this has me flying around the room on a broomstick and howling at the moon while my teeth are growing in a strange manner. So maybe it’s not so off-topic.

  38. Hi Matt,

    Ever listened to Manowar?
Here is some lyrics from their infamous track ‘Hail and Kill’ dedicated to all those Googlers fighting spam these days.

    “My father was a wolf
I’m a kinsman of the slain
    Sworn to rise again
    I will bring salvation,
    punishment and pain
The hammer of fate is our faith
    Power and dominion
    are taken by the will
    By divine right
    hail and kill”

    πŸ™‚

  39. haha…nice!

wheres your giant friend? isnt his name G-man? Wait no…thats half life…

  40. I like the halloween pics Matt. We decided to go a little more hellish for ours:

    http://www.crystalcleardesigns.com/files/halloween05.jpg

I am second to the left with the zombie thing going on πŸ˜‰

Enjoy – and happy day after halloween to everyone!

  41. Great Costume Matt!

    Aj

  42. That made me FAR too happy. Awesomeness!
I, too, will be stealing that line for my sig.

No time for a costume this year, but last year I dressed as a failed build:

  43. Erm, let’s try again with the pic of the costume: http://www.geekwardho.org/AncientHistory/001138.html

  44. I don’t have a photo unfortunately, but a kid came to my door dressed up as an Internet pop-up! He said he was “trying to effect change.” Precocious young feller. Made me laugh!

  45. The real name is IΓ±igo, not Inigo.

One more thing for Google to care about: Γ‘
Γ‘ is not N, it is only similar written, but the pronunciation is different. The ASCII code for Γ‘ is not the same as for N.

Ask a spanish if ‘aΓ±o’ is equal as ‘ano’, or if ‘peΓ±a’ is the same as ‘pena’.

Maybe google knows how deep is the ocean, or who was the third man on the moon, but he doesn’t know the differences between ‘aΓ±o’ and ‘ano’.

By the way, good costume πŸ™‚

  46. Nice Pics.

  47. I wonder how many of Matt’s neighbors called the police after seeing him swinging that sword around in his backyard.

  48. Sandboxer, it was hard to keep that frustrated look on my face all night.

  49. Matt ! The Jagger thread at WMW is … MISSING!?. Did you take it? Care to share a data center where we’ll see Jagger 3 results first?

  50. what a strange princess bride article…

  51. But who was your Princess Buttercup? We want to see pictures of her, too! πŸ™‚

P.S. — On a less happy side-note… your security code captcha thingy is pretty ill-designed.
    1) It’s case-sensitive. That’s generally uncool.
    2) When I didn’t enter it right the first time, it took me to an error page, and upon hitting back (in firefox), my entire message was erased. You should try to emulate Blogger in this context; when you submit a comment, it saves it even if you get the captcha wrong, and just gives you another chance to re-enter the captcha.

  52. Matt i feel sorry for the world of Information Technology ,i feel sorry for webmasters that have spend years of work making your employers rich by using stolen content from those webmasters,i feel sorry for you that you have to be a silly maskarated idiot for Google’s Public Relation purposes,I feel sorry that you and your conpadres are doing the same think like the 3d reich did(creating quinslings) ,I feel sorry why our fathers fight for freedom and Democracy in the 40’s ….for what ? just to see a new status qvo under the name Google or PAX GOOGLANA ?or PAX AMERICANA?
PS:you know who i am because in your Great New World there is no way that you can hide you ID.But to tell you my dear “I don’t give a damn”
I haven’t done anything wrong exept that having a page that made me some money and you basΒ£%^rds destroyed whith no reason ,or maybe i was a small guy,I hope God will pay you back one day.I believe in God .
PS2)I have copyed that message if you will not post it that means you are a ploker and i will post it in webmasterworld.

  53. Unfair Alipi. I’ve probably “lost” a lot more money than you due to search engine craziness/changes/errors/etc. Matt, or Google for that matter, are unfairly attacked here. It’s a very wild west and will be for some time. If you were doing black hat stuff you got caught – even if you were NOT you can’t expect it all to go your way dude.

  54. alipi,
Funny how you guys who complain are afraid to post your url. Also if you are counting on Google for all your income you should know not to put all your eggs in one basket.

  55. So sorry, it is not Inigo, is IΓ±igo.

  56. hope it’s a wig, dude!

  57. That costume is inconceivable!

How lovely to have a 6th digit on my right hand and be able to reach the number keypad when touch typing….

  58. huh? How does a mexican lookin thingy ma jig class as a Haloween character? Or is it an American thing? And here’s us Brits thinking we had to dress up as ghosts and vampires doh@us πŸ˜€

Oh, I know, any excuse to wear the boots! πŸ˜‰

  63. Does anybody want a peanut?

  64. hahaha very funny, hapy halloween… take care

  65. I have an important question about this costume. I barely remember the movie – does Inigo actually kill anyone?

  66. You killed my ranking, prepare to die!!!!

    ~ As you wish.

I love that movie. Great costume.

After as many years as I have had my site, I find it interesting that a site would be dropped for no reason. Actually, I find that impossible. What I find interesting is that people are complaining about it after being caught doing something that will get them dropped. ~ Inconceivable!

  67. IΓ±igo vs. Inigo.

This prompted me to go back and watch the movie again (our old VHS copy, surprised it hadn’t melted or something), and it is rendered ‘Inigo’ in the credits. Same at IMDB.

Jeez, if you can’t trust Rob Reiner and Amazon.com to render Spanish names properly, who can you trust?…

  68. *Sigh* I miss being Zorro when I was kid. He is my hero!

  69. nice pic, is this Man Kind of WWF πŸ˜‰

    Cool blog very interesting!

  70. Zoro, Robin Good and don KiHot are heros of past and futer:) Am I right, isnt’t it?

  71. I had a swimming teacher that looked liked this!

  72. Where did you get that sword?? Please, it’s my friend’s birthday next month, he loves the movie in a huge way, so I wanna get him the sword πŸ™‚ Awesome look, man, I’d go into work dressed like that any day of the week πŸ˜€ Please email me back if you can to let me know where I can get that sword, I’ll even buy yours off you :p I’m in the UK btw.

  73. Dan, just search around a little bit, e.g.
    http://www.swordsdirect.com/scottish-swords-mortuary-hilt-sword.html
and stuff can do just fine or http://www.swordsdirect.com/fencing_swords.html
or whatever. Even if the hilt isn’t letter-perfect, the costume will let everyone else know what it is.

  74. he-he… 15 person on a chest of the deadman, and a bottle of rum πŸ™‚

  75. Love the pics here Matt, they’re awesome

  76. Just go as yourself – thats pretty damn scarey

Suggestions, maybe lederhosen a brat and a beer!

  85. A classic movie!

  86. you’d love to live in my hometown Saint-Malo !

  87. Ahahaha, you should be a swordman if you were in nineteenth century.

  88. Great Boots. My costume was pretty lame this year. A home made Han Solo.

  89. Just clicked through onto some of the commenters homepages. Truely an international audience reading this blog. Unreal, about 15 different countries for this post alone. Way ta go man, you have a serious following! Rightly so.

  90. Nice! classic outfit!! I love it! hehehe

  91. Nice costume bro, Princess Bride is my favorite movie. Way to go!!!!

  92. lol, I had a similar costume on a helloween in 2004. Had to use a plastic blade though. Here,in Canada,it’s easy to get arrested with any life looking blades…

  93. Hi Matt,

  94. Great look captain of Pirates from Caribic.

  95. That sword is used to cut spam!

  96. What about this year? Any thought yet?

  97. I don’t know you and this page is a few years old but I just found it on Google (looking for zombies) and have to say this is quite possible the best Halloween outfit I have seen in my life.

  100. No more rhymes and I mean it!

So many cameras did you have on you? πŸ™‚

  103. Wow!! Matt you are looking awesome πŸ™‚

  104. I have to say that the puff of chest hair really made the outfit. I also like what appear to be two belts strapped around your waist. Some of us need a little more support than others I suppose.

  105. Mine will be coming soon
