Help Marcela
On a more serious note, if you’ve been an SEO for a while and have been to conferences or if you visited WMW in the last few years, you probably got to meet Marcela DeVivo (aka 2_Much). Marcela helped a lot of people and always held my feet to the fire about doing more in the Hispanic market.
Now Marcela could use some help of her own. Her unborn son, Nathan Dorje Andrew, was recently diagnosed with serious brain damage. This has got to be a nightmare for an expecting mother, and she asks for your prayers. If you want to help in other ways, you can also donate money (thanks for making that page, grnidone).
I’m wishing the best for you and Nathan, Marcela.

Update: Jeremy is matching funds if you’re thinking about donating.

I’ve never even met Marcela, but I donated some extra cash in my PayPal account to her after I read grnidone’s note on SEW last week. It may not be a lot, but if we all give a little…
Thanks to you Matt for helping out!

My heart goes out to Marcela and Nathan and will say a few prayers for them. I can understand all of the emotion Marcela is going through. I have had children and lost children and recenlty one went through brain surgery. No matter what happens you will find much comfort in surrounding yourself with caring, loving, and supportive people. Even those you don’t know. Let God take care of the rest. Again God bless you Marcela and Nathan you are in our prayers.

In addition to donations, many of her close Webmaster and SEO friends, or people whom she has helped in the past, could possibly consider putting special Adsense accounts on their Sites - and donating ALL of the income to her.

For those of you who may not know her, Marcela is a sweet, kind and giving person. She is generous with her time, gentle in spirit, and treats strangers like family. My heart goes out to her and and her entire family in this difficult time. It’s truly incredible to see such an outpouring of love from the community and I hope it continues to grow. I also know she reads this blog and have no doubt she will be blessed by all the well wishes.

Dear Matt Cutts Team,
trying to raise money by a donation is quite a good idea
but probably it may not be efficient enough!
I think you should raise more money
renting a “backlink” on your Site!!!
Many people are interested in that and many people can renting a “backlink” in others site, only for 30-60 days
Regards GT-Team

Sigh. I know exactly what she’s going through. There is nothing worse than being told your baby has severe brain damage. I hope she has a strong support system and she remembers to take things one day at a time. The pain doesn’t ever go away, but it becomes more bearable. I’m keeping her in my thoughts.

The LORD bless you and keep you;

The LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their kindness and support, it has been beyond comprehension the amount of kindness our family has received from this community, and we are so extremely grateful. Everyone’s prayers, donations, and words of encouragement have meant so much.
This experience has been very difficult and very inspiring for us, and we are grateful for everyone’s support - so much has been given. Thank you. And thanks Matt for posting this on your blog.
Now, to the most important thing - I feel very proud to be a part of this community, and I hope everyone does, a group of people willing to spend time, money, and energy on helping someone in need, is amazing. Thank you.
