Matt G, I really appreciate it! Ironically, I'm in the Omaha airport, and just about to board the outbound flight--but maybe next time I can try some of these. :)

Hmmm, where to start... If you like greek food, Ellada in Dundee (50th street, about a block south of Underwood) is a tiny place, seats about 8-10, but they are amazing. The kebabs are worth trying. If you want more american fare, less than a block to the northeast is Mark's Bistro. The house specialty is macaroni and cheese (usually with added ingredients), been there about 3 times, and have yet to have a less than fantastic meal.

La Casa is a nice little italian place. Many people like their romano cheese pizza, though not everyone likes how dry it can be. La Casa is found at about 44th & Leavenworth. Over on 48th(?) & Center street is Gorat's steak house. An old fashioned stakehouse, that Warren Buffet is said to frequent.

For chinese food, I pretty much found Three Happiness Express and stopped looking. Nice large portions, choice of eggroll or crab rangoon and choice of soup (wonton, eggdrop or sweet & sour), great service and really reasonably priced. Very casual. They are in a little strip mall at 51st & Leavenworth.

Leaving my extended neighborhood, you can head down to 13th & (and just north of) Martha street to place I just heard about called Two Cities. A bit pricier than most places in town, they pick two different cities worldwide every few weeks and the menu features selections of entrees, main courses and desserts from the cities. Like San Francisco and Tokyo, for example.

Out west, 119th & (1 block south of) Pacific there's another Steakhouse with a gimmick. Brother Sebastians, is designed to feel like a monastry inside. Rooms like the winery, the library, etc. The atmosphere is nice and the food is quite good.

There's a lot more out there... but that's a decent start. Plus I need to sleep before I open presents.

I hope you have a merry Christmas, Matt, and come back any time!
