Halloween costume?

Last year I did Inigo Montoya for Halloween. What should I do this year?

  1. Nacho Libre πŸ˜›

  2. Zombie Steve Irwin

    Too soon?

  3. What about ET?

  4. Larry or Sergey?
    Bill Gates?
    Sir Tim Berners-Lee?

    Ah, no, too easy…

    What about a full-on Johnny Depp “Captain Jack (Sparrow)”?

  5. That Inigo Montoya outfit is hilarious.

    I find that with Halloween costumes, the key is to build something big and imposing.

    Me and my brother build a transforming Optimus Prime costume using cardboard boxes and paint. It worked very well. All you do is spin around the main cab box so that it’s backwords, and then sit down, and you’ve transformed.

    Give that a try. It’s not so hard to set do.

  6. Vanessa Fox πŸ™‚

  7. Well if hes going to crossdress it has to be Marissa πŸ™‚

    I thought of No2 from Austin powers

  8. In light of your venture into the classroom (by way of video), you should try on the robes of Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. I think this would be an apropos salute to a marvelous actor who has left us and a fitting character for you … all things considered.

    Have fun! πŸ˜‰

  9. Seth Godin ! πŸ˜‰

    Or maybe Zorro !

  10. I recommend the Goldmember Austin Powers in the blue velvet suit.

    Ted Z

  11. Mask yourself as GoogleBot πŸ™‚

  12. Shave the head, lose the glasses, and go as Stone Cold Steve Austin.

  13. What about the following code?

    javascript:var smallTags = document.getElementsByTagName(“small”);
    for(var i=0;i

  14. Find a Wizard of Oz Tin Man costume…or a robot costume, and slightly modify it to be “Google Bot”.

  15. var smallTags = document.getElementsByTagName("small");
    for(var i=0;i<smallTags.length;i++)
    {
    var sum = smallTags[i].innerHTML.split("pam protection: what is the sum of")[1];
    var i=trim(sum.split("+")[0]);
    var j=trim(sum.split("+")[1].substring(0,sum.split("+")[1].length-1));
    alert(i*1+j*1);
    }
    function trim(sString){while(sString.substring(0,1)==’ ‘)
    {
    sString = sString.substring(1, sString.length);
    }
    while (sString.substring(sString.length-1, sString.length) == ‘ ‘)
    {
    sString = sString.substring(0,sString.length-1);
    }
    return sString;
    }

  16. Indiana Jones!

  17. The Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons

  18. James Bond !!

  19. men in black?, no? how about half white and half black:)

  20. Agree with Peter… the Comic Guy from The Simpsons will fit you very well.

    Or maybe a Sargento GarcΓa costume (from The Zorro original series)

  21. mop for a wig, + skirt + taped “Censored” sign across your chest…. you’re “girls gone wild” and it’s a really cheap costume.

  22. Fessik πŸ™‚

  23. Get a team of fellow employees together to reenact the Monty Python “Spam” skit. You could play Mrs. Bun who repeatedly screams “but I don’t want any SPAM!!!”

  24. Wonderwoman!!!

  25. I say after last weeks radio show you should go as Buffy! I think you would make a stunning Sarah Michelle Geller.

  26. a blue t-shirt… indicating the blue screen of death… very scary πŸ˜‰

  27. Mmmm, Fessik. πŸ™‚

  28. “v” from V for vendetta

    Or

    Joe Dirt – Life is a garden, Dig it!

  29. I’ve always wanted to go as John Gaunt, but never really had the time to put the costume together…

    http://www.popthought.com/images/grimjack.jpg

  30. Ron Jeremy . . . you already have the wig from last year . . . just need some mustache and some trashy slothes from the late 70’s and that’s it πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  31. How about a dinasaur! You’ve got it down, just need the costume! *grin*

  32. Black hat, black sunglasses, black trench coat but wear a Spam T-shirt underneath and reveal the shirt when you draw a crowd; but this would only work at a Google party.

  33. You are famous enough now that you could just go as yourself. Who needs Hollywood? You created your own fame.

    Hey maybe I should dress up as Matt Cutts for Halloween. I could get a can of anti-spam spray (i.e. silly string, relabeled). Get a cat that likes to B.A. cameras, a bag of Skittles and a bag of M&Ms . . . and of course the anti-spam button with an anti-spam t-shirt.

    Now that, oh mighty Matt, would be a halloween costume. πŸ˜‰

    Take care!!!

    P.S. The best costume I ever saw was a leopard costume warn by a 5’9″ 120lbs. 19 year old (I was 22 at the time so not that perve-o) woman. Prrrrrrrrr. She was working at Winger’s on Harrison Blvd in Ogden, UT. If you get Google maps working in real time perhaps you can find out if the tradition is still being upheld there. πŸ˜‰ Man I am in a chatty mood this morning . . . watch out.

  34. I vote BENDER!!! Can you do the voice?

    Here is a good example to work from…

    http://forevergeek.com/images/bender.jpg

  35. Judge Dredd! Practice your Stallone-esque “I am the law!”

  36. Blues Clue!

    lol lol

  37. Bender is a great idea, though it would end up being hot. If you decide to be lame though, you could just use last years costume, minus the sword and you’d resemble Nacho Libre.

    For real though, I think it would look great if you didnt shave for a week and then wore a tutu.

  38. Always Behind Dave

    Giant Can O Spam.

    Go Wolfpack!!!

  39. Go as GoogleGuy. Or Ron Jeremy. Or Steve Wozniak.

  40. Either Dog the Bounty Hunter or Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) from Talladega Nights.

  41. Jeremy Zawodny

  42. Silent Bob

  43. Duffman

  44. Okay, let’s see. Last year you were a character which could only be truly identified by your voice — both the tone and a famous line. Nice choice by the way, creative and funny. So let’s explore that theme again.

    Here’s some characters which have distinctive voices and famous sayings which I’m sure, with a little practice, you could pull off.

    The Godfather
    Forrest Gump
    John Wayne
    Richard “Tricky Dick” Nixon
    Bill “Even More Tricky Dick” Clinton

    “Google’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get…” πŸ˜‰

    Enjoy!

  45. I dress up as an Oakland homicide victim, er Resident every few years.

    The costume is simple, you put some fake skin in a ball on your forehead. Use your finger and blend the edges into your skin until it’s imperceptible. If necessary, use a little make-up to complete the job.

    Then you use the blunt eraser end of the pencil and make a BULLET HOLE by pressing the eraser as deep as possible into the middle of the fake skin.

    Now, you insert the tube of vampire blood in the hole and squeeze so you get a dribble that runs down your forehead and across your nose. Use the pencil, qtip or something else to spread fake blood all around inside the hole to complete the illusion.

    Apply additional blood “splatter” around the hole to taste.

    Total cost under 10 bucks, takes about 5-10 minutes to apply, after about an hour the fake skin looks so real it’ll even freak you out when you look in the mirror.

    It’s low key enough you can wear it to work all day and nobody realizes you’re even wearing a costume until you look at them and the screams are delightful.

    Had a stupid kid trick or treating as “Hey Mister, can I touch your brain?”

    Then when entering an Albertson’s, some lady walking out as I was walking in looked at my forehead and screamed so loud, nearly dropped her groceries, everyone was looking… then she recovered and said “OH! it is halloween!”

    Enjoy!

  46. Suggestions,
    How about lederhosen, a brat, and a beer (Danny Sullivan)!
    thanx

  47. I agree with Kid Disco, Silent Bob would be Wicked Sweet!!!

    If all else fails, you could just wrap yourself in tinfoil and go as a “leftover” πŸ™‚

  48. I agree with Kid Disco, Silent Bob would be Wicked Sweet!

    If all else fails you could just wrap yourserlf in tin foil and go as a “leftover” πŸ™‚

  49. Bullwinkle. I can send you some cardboard antlers if you would like.

  50. Comic book guy

  51. Google T-shirt

  52. Grim Reaper with site cutting scythe, standing askance a pile of dead spam urls.

  53. Mmm. Silent Bob. Good facial hair potential on that one. And I have a trenchcoat. Hmm.

  54. How about SUPERMAN? lol

  55. Haha I agree with Ted Z, it has to be Austin Powers that would be hilarious!!

  56. Matt – wouldn’t Luke Skywalker be appropriate?

    DaveN Vader: There is no escape. Don’t make me destroy you. (pauses) Matt, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy.
    Matt Skywalker: I’ll never join you.

  57. Giant Can O Spam.

    Go Wolfpack!!!
    πŸ™‚

  58. Chris_D – you realise that in the unmade films 7-9 of Star Wars, Luke Skywalker actually does turn to the dark side, albeit temporarily? πŸ˜€

  59. just do what danny did because of the bet with thomasb. wear lederhosen!

  60. Why not just go as an enormous pumpkin?

  61. Ian – you don’t mean that sometime in the future – Matt will start cloaking his blog, signing guestbooks, and buying ‘free hitcounter’ links?

    I’m shocked.

    :0

  62. I was under the impression that Luke doesn’t turn to the dark side, they merely make a clone of Luke and train *that* one to use the dark side, leading to an epic battle between a normal Luke and a dark Luke …

  63. Completely off topic, but Vanessa Fox deserves a raise.

  64. Bushgle?
    Its a mix of bush and google, so is a search engine than works bad and has extremly violence….

  65. Elvis

  66. i take the idea of the out of topic…. What about Vanessa Fox?
    lol or madonna?

  67. Freak Brothers?

  68. Another vote for Silent Bob, but instead of wrecking the movie because you dont get any dough for the screenplay, you could turn off the spam filter because you dont get enough stock options. It will stretch you as an actor since it is such a reach…

  69. Don’t do Silent Bob without Jay, it won’t work that well!

  70. Matt, why don’t you dress a white shirt with all the belgique text which can be currently found at http://www.google.be/… πŸ™‚ No idea, how long this text will stay…. But looks like Belgium’s Halloween…..

  71. me and 5 of my friends are going as vultron this year. hell frickin yeah! You can’t go as vultron cus I already called it but I do think you should go as the black knight from monty python.

  72. Captain underpants

  73. Get a

    Cow costume, Vampire costume and a Fake meat cleaver

    You can be the Man Eating Cow!

  74. Chris’s costume would fit you – if you need one, let me know. But if you’re looking for a facial hair costume, Rand Fishkin would be my vote. πŸ™‚

  75. Halloween Costume????

    It’s real simple or should I say EASY. Why not dress yourself as one of those “EASY” buttons.
    Costume Accessories:
    Option 1 – Somehow decorate in there a Google essence then you
    have how search is done on Google……EASY.

    Option 2 – Think of as many acronyms for EASY which somewhere
    have Google in them and put them all over the costume.

    When I first moved to TN I got indoctrinated into the “Goo-Goo” candy if you will. T-shirt w/ pic of a “Goo-Goo” taglined w/ “Babies first words…Goo-Goo-Google”

  76. Apparently you’re not the only one celebrating a birthday, Matt.

    http://evilmattcutts.com/

    Looks like your doppleganger is right there with you.

  77. Something you can use “both” belts for. You know, the ones’ I teased you about last year.

    But IMO I think you should go as Jeeves. πŸ˜€

  78. You can dress of Inigo father’s killer (with the sword inside and all…) πŸ™‚

  79. I think you should be … The Cat in the (Black) Hat saying Dr. Seuss poems like:

    I do not like Green Eggs and Ham
    I do not like Search Engine SPAM
    I do not want a lower rate
    I do not need a porn star date
    I will not buy your household cleaner!
    I do not need a longer wiener!

  80. You should go as the Great Pumpkin

  81. I have heard that you dont really need any make up or costume atall ha ha ha .

  82. Not sure if you have kids but here is my costume this year:

    Anytimecostumes.com/costumes/00565984.html

    Ha!!

    My little girl is crazy about Buzz Lightyear…..

  83. A Penguin – fun for the kids – supporting linux – great for a date, “March of the Penguins” etc, etc…

  84. I have an idea for something I want to see someone do it, take it and run with it if you wish or anyone else can use it. Pop-Col-eye, Start with a regular popeye costume then add the effects of e-coli from the fresh spinach he ate, greenish makeup, brown stained sailor pants etc walk around saying “I’m sick to me stomach cause I ates me spinach I’m popeye the e-coli victim ..barf barf (shoot green silly string like its coming out of your mouth)” added idea if you are up to it and not worried is to actially carry an actual bag of fresh spinach (I hear its safe now)

  85. Perhaps a matt cutts outfit like your logo πŸ™‚ (blue shirt, brown trousers).. we have carnival in the Netherlands.. last year I was pirate.. and Doctor this year.. pictures I have. but would not be so good idea, I think.

  86. Matte, love the blog, but your attire needs improvement, its boring. We think a Hawaiian shirt would spruce you up. Drop us a line, we can help you dress better.

  87. So what’s it going to be Matt?

  88. Matt, Check your MySpace for message from me. I didn’t have any other way to get it to you, well at least with the mark-ups. Later Buddy.
    Brian

  89. You should find a shirt with a P on it and then draw a black circle awround your eye and go as a Black Eye Pea

  90. What about Draculla?

    Akash

  91. I’m going to be the Google homepage for halloween this year. I’ll post some photos on my blog.

  95. Comic book guy – thats you πŸ™‚

  96. You could always try this if you are still unsure of what you want to be. Site lets you add costumes to your own pic. Really fun tool to play around with.

    http://www.youcostume.com

  97. A conference bridge. Make it to look like you are wearing a bridge with people sitting at a table or two people talking on the phone
