I know this is not what you are working on, but maybe you know an answer anyway.
I just came back from munich, and I used the google maps iphone app to find venues more easily. Just two problems that bother me a bit: - Say I zoomed in on my location with the "my location" button. then when I search for just "geschwister scholl platz" or similiar without the city, google maps (not sure about other devices/the web, but at least on the iphone) jumps to a smallish town several hundred kilometers away, even though "geschwister scholl platz" in munich was just a few blocks away. Only when I entered the city it finally knew what I wanted. Why can't it just go to the nearest place with that name?
Also with business listings/clubs: Often these are known/ advertised as a certain name, but the name of the company running the place may be different or confusing in some way, but google maps only knows the name of the company, so if you know the common name and want to find the location of a restaurant or club, having to find out which of the weird company names is the right one gets kinda annoying.
So have you or anybody else here experienced this too, and maybe do you if this application behaviour is on purpose?

Any chance of going back to the old interface? I've been using the Google Local feature extensively since May and the recent improvements in the user interface ain't. Haven't tried the phone interface, but that may come up when I'm traveling.

I do like the satellite images very much.

Too bad my phone is not supported. It would be really cool if Matt created a video clip on that song :)

Artem, I know that's a request that we hear often, so I'm sure it's on peoples' radar.
