I am new to this javascript and google thing. Is there a way to use matlab code which involves plotting and incorporate it into google maps? I have written code but the Google web toolkit converts java into javascript. Is there a way to do this for matlab? It will be nice if it could be done.

Its a great shame that they don't have days like this in the UK. But i think google only have a small base in England, so it wouldn't be worthwhile.

I would love to go to a google developer day. I will give google gears a go, thanks for the info :)

One of my employees went to the Google Developer Day in São Paulo (we´re located in the center of São Paulo) and he came back with a t-shirt of Google. That´s when I realized I had never seen the Google logo outside the internet,.. :)

Matt,

I am seeing a lot of angry chatter about google toolbar beta 3 and some feature it has that pulls a greasemonkey type scam and rewrites the code on the page it is viewing to include Amazon affiliate links for google.

This seems like the same type of thing Google malware prevention is trying to stop?

How would Google like it if someone came out with a toolbar that modified the Google java code on pages to be a google publishers code or another network altogether like Overture?

This seems like one of those things Google should stay the heck away from or they will start a new web war of tools that greasemonkey everyone elses pages to the software coders benefit.

Not to mention the sharp drop in revenue for all the webmasters.

The most likely immediate scenario would be google toolbar changing yahoo and yahoo toolbar changing google. Who will win that one? Also seems like google would be opening itself to lawsuits galore on any page that says... "the contents may not be modified or used without the author's permission" etc..

You seem to be the man in the know on all things related to this. I was very curious about your opinion after reading about it on searchguild's forums.

BTW - they also wrote a javascript to defeat it already and have started a meta tag standard that they want google to adopt eventually to prevent that feature if Google plans to keep doing it.

You could basically write a whole new blog post about this situation but I could not find anywhere to independently contact you.

Regards,
Chris
